Niner Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 24, 2026

The short version: Niner is a sudoku game that runs entirely on your device. We don't have a server, we don't have an account system, and we don't transmit your data anywhere. Your puzzles, stats, and achievements never leave your phone.

Data we collect

None. The app has no server, no account system, and no analytics. It does not transmit any data off your device to us or to anyone else.

Data stored on your device

The app saves the following locally in Android SharedPreferences (com.ninersudoku/shared_prefs/sudoku_prefs.xml) so your progress persists across launches:

This data never leaves your device. It is not synced, backed up to our servers, or shared with any third party.

You can erase all stored data at any time by tapping Reset all data at the bottom of the Statistics screen, or by clearing app data in Android Settings → Apps → Niner → Storage → Clear data.

Permissions

Niner requests no runtime permissions. The app does not access:

The app's AndroidManifest.xml declares no <uses-permission> entries.

What we don't collect

Third-party services

Niner uses no third-party SDKs, analytics frameworks, ad networks, or crash reporters. There is no telemetry of any kind.

The Android Auto Backup feature (provided by the Android operating system, not by us) may include the app's preferences in your device's regular backup if you have backups enabled. This backup is governed by Google's privacy policy, not ours, and we do not have access to it.

Children's privacy

Niner does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The app is suitable for all ages.

Data deletion

To delete all your data, uninstall the app. All locally stored data is removed when you uninstall. We have no server-side database holding your progress.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how the app handles data, we will update this policy and the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play.
